Part 4c - The 5-5-5 Technique

 

Now for practical exercise number two, to help you be more open, flexible and curious with everything that happens BETWEEN THE EARS!

This exercise is a simple one to centre yourself and connect with your environment. Practice it throughout the day, especially anytime you find yourself getting caught up in your thoughts and feelings.

 

  1. Pause for a moment. Notice and acknowledge how you are feeling, emotionally and physically, and what you are thinking, right now.
  2. Look around you, near and far, and notice 5 things you can see.
  3. Listen carefully, and acknowledge 5 things you can hear…
