We all at some point get consumed by stress, our mind "time travelling" (back to the past or forward to the future!) and "fear stories" and it's at these times that we need to get back to the PRESENT MOMENT in the REAL WORLD...that is, the world outside of you, not between the ears!
So for each day for the month of May I'm going to train my ability, between the ears, to REALLY focus on doing one activity so I can rely on this skill of Mindfulness when stress, the time travelling mind, or my fear stories try to take over my life.
I invite you to join me for this month of training and if you need some help in choosing what activity to focus on each day, I will be posting/emailing my daily activity the night before. Also if you have any questions or comments, please reach out to me.
So let's get to it...
Activity for Day 1 (tomorrow):
- Focus on what you are doing in the HERE and NOW,
- Take note using your SENSES, and
- BE CURIOUS of...
THE WAKE-UP BREATH - we wake in the morning due to our blood pressure rising, either naturally or from an external source (e.g. alarm), and also our anxiety levels are generally highest in the morning so let's calm things down and start our day well by focussing on a nice, slow, deep breath!
Also use this throughout the day, if you need another wake-up!
